Purpose of the Award

The Asian Society for Hydrobiology (ASH) established the John Morse Student Award as an expression of gratitude for Dr. John Morse’s many enduring contributions to the science of hydrobiology and ASH. The award is given biannually in the international ASH Conference, with the purpose of recognizing the progress of young students within the field of hydrobiology. A student will be nominated for their high achievements in the field, providing the nominee with a certificate and prize of 1,000 USD.

Eligibility

ASH student members at the time of application who have not received the award previously.

Award Announcements

The recipient will be decided by the John Morse Student Award Committee and the result announcement/ award ceremony will take place onsite.

The 6th Biannual ASH Conference Seoul 2024 Travel Grants

With the generous support of the society’s president, sponsors and global academic societies, Asian Society for Hydrobiology (ASH) is able to provide scholarships for outstanding students and researchers. The scholarships aim at enabling participation in conferences and provide incentives for oral presentations. The ASH scholarship will cover for the registration fee and provide accommodation through Arirang Hill Hotel Seoul during July 1 to 4.

Members of ASH or full-time registrants of ASH 2024 Seoul Conference

Submission of Documents

  • Outline/ abstract of one’s current research plan (up to 1 page maximum, free format)

Application Deadline

Applications are due by March 25, 2024.

Recipients of the ASH Travel Grant Announcements

After the decision from the ASH award committee is finalized, announcement for the recipients of the ASH Travel Grants will be sent via personal email by March 31, 2024.
